3 Reasons to Use a Caged Box Car Trailer to Move Furniture

If you're moving house or shifting furniture to a new location, then you may have decided to move things yourself. You don't need a removalist but reckon that you can get the job done with a car trailer. If you're moving furniture, then a caged box trailer is a good option. Why?

1. Create More Space

If you use a simple box trailer, then you limit available space. You can only really fill the trailer safely to the top of its sides. While you can load over this level, you'll have to find a way to secure everything or risk stuff falling off the sides. You may also be pulled up by the police for unsafe loading.

If you use a box trailer with a cage, then the cage adds height to the sides of the trailer. Your box gets bigger and more secure. This is useful if you're loading larger pieces of furniture. They can rest on the sides of the cage more securely.

Plus, you may be able to speed up the moving process. The more you can fit in the trailer, the fewer trips you'll have to take to make the move.

2. Get a Secure Solution

You might have to take breaks or make rest stops if you have a long journey ahead of you. This gets tricky with a basic box trailer. Even if you tie stuff down or cover it over, it won't take someone long to cut the cover or the ropes so they can steal your stuff.

Adding a cage to the mix gives you more security. The trailer has higher sides, and if you use a product with a lock, it's harder to break in to. While you won't want to leave the trailer for long, you get enough time to take a break when you need it.

3. Get Flexible Transport

While a caged box trailer has its advantages, there may be times when you want the easy access of a regular box during the move. If you've transported all your big pieces and just have a few boxes and bags left, then getting them in and out of a cage is time-consuming.

At this stage, you can simply remove the cage to turn the trailer back into a regular box model again. This makes the trailer more flexible.

If you aren't sure what size and design of trailer to choose, ask car trailer suppliers for advice. They can show you different models and cage configurations.
